Kigogo Home

Kigogo Home is located in Kigogo a suburb of Dar es Salaam.  The Home provides wholistic services to 30 primary school children who have been referred by the Drop-In Center in Town for their proven school performance.  The children attend local Government Primary Schools.

Kigogo Home has been operating since 1996.  Some 80 children have graduated from Primary School going on to either Secondary Education or Vocational Training. Seven Staff serve the needs of these school going children.  Many of these children have served as class Prefects and monitors in their respective schools.

The Government through National Housing Corporation plans to demolish the buildings in which the Drop-In Center is located by the end of 2005.  The Trust has decided to embark on an expansion program which will cater to 30 more Primary Students who will be otherwise forced back on the streets though they are enrolled in school.
